A long weekend was organised in Harrogate during the month of October. Accommodation was booked at the Crown Plaza Hotel, and trips to York, Masham Brewery, Heritage Railway and the north Yorkshire moors were enjoyed by all.
Our last day trip was to the Sapphire Distillery in Hampshire; after an interesting tour around the site (formerly Portals bank note printing works) we consumed some gin based cocktails. A short coach ride took us to lunch in Winchester, and for some a visit to the cathedral.
A visit to Duxford aircraft museum was arranged for a day before the Battle of Britain flying display, so we saw some of the planes practicing too!
